Abstract
Reported prevalence rates of comorbid bipolar affective disorder among children and adolescents with ADHD differ markedly between the United States and Germany. Using the case of a 14-year-old boy with hyperkinetic conduct disorder and hypomania, different ways of evaluating the symptoms are discussed, and the patient's diagnosis and treatment are presented.
