The influence of sex on self-reported childhood ADHD symptoms

Abstract
Based on data from 166 women, 69 of whom had been diagnosed with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in childhood, ROC analysis identified a cut-off score of 30 for the German short form of the Wender Utah Rating Scale (WURS-k). At this cut-off, sensitivity (proportion of true-positive results) is 93% and specificity is 92%, i.e. false-positive classification occurs in only 8% of cases. The cut-off determined for women was identical to the value previously calculated for men. Examination of the 21 individual items reveals some sex differences.
