Methylphenidate and the development of addiction

Abstract

This review summarizes the results of a systematic literature search. The currently available evidence presents a different picture in animal experimental versus clinical studies. Therapeutic use of MPH in childhood appears to be associated with a long-term reduction in the risk of addiction.
