Psychotherapy for increased aggressiveness

Abstract

Findings from an empirical practice study on the course and effects of outpatient individual psychotherapy for disorders characterized by markedly increased aggressiveness are presented. The therapies were conducted by experienced psychotherapists according to the approach of general and differential psychotherapy in a routine-practice sample of 30 men with conduct disorders, specific adjustment disorders, impulse-control disorders, and antisocial personality disorders. Treatment success was examined in a five-year follow-up.
