Abstract
In group schema therapy (GST), the schema-therapy mode model is transferred to group psychotherapy settings. Core elements of schema therapy, such as limited reparenting and the integration of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral intervention strategies, are retained in the GST model. To ensure the participation of all patients in the group setting, the use of a co-therapist team is recommended. Empirical evidence for the effectiveness of the GST model is currently available only for borderline personality disorder (BPD). Further studies must show whether the GST model can also be transferred to other patient groups or groups with mixed psychiatric diagnoses.
