Specification of neuropsychological deficits in patients with suspected adult ADHD

Abstract

The present study investigates neuropsychological impairments in executive and, specifically, inhibitory functions in ADHD patients with and without comorbid BPD and in BPD patients, comparing these groups with one another and with healthy controls. The empirical section focuses on comparing neuropsychological findings on inhibitory control and questionnaire data on impulsivity and anger regulation among adult ADHD patients with and without comorbid borderline personality disorder, patients with borderline personality disorder alone, and healthy controls. Finally, the results are discussed in the context of the theoretical foundations presented earlier and with reference to three hypotheses.
