Stress processing and quality of life in children and adolescents with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder

Abstract

Initial studies suggest unfavorable regulation particularly of negative emotions in children and adolescents with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), especially in the presence of comorbid aggressive behavior disorders. Other findings show that the quality of life of children and adolescents with ADHD is impaired compared with healthy individuals. The present study investigated whether stress processing and quality of life in boys with ADHD differ depending on age and subgroup. Stress processing and quality of life were also compared with healthy normative data.
