Abstract

As part of a follow-up study of 16- to 22-year-old adolescents and young adults who had received multimodal treatment for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder as children, the present analysis examines the relationship between current intellectual performance and current ADHD symptoms, comorbid symptoms, and previous pharmacological treatment. The study asks whether, in a longitudinal design, current ADHD symptoms or comorbid symptoms of former patients are negatively correlated with current intellectual performance and whether differences are associated with prior treatment with methylphenidate.
