Abstract

Increasing numbers of pediatricians are caring for patients with ADHD in their practices. While children who are clearly hyperactive tend to “stand out,” the predominantly inattentive subtype is more difficult to recognize and is often not diagnosed. The key to diagnosis is, in particular, a careful medical history.
