Abstract
About 4 to 5 % of the population are affected with developmental dyslexia. Therefore dyslexia is one of the most frequent disorders in child psychiatry. Genetic factors play an important role for the development of dyslexia. An example of a five generation family with 8 affected members illustrates the impact of dyslexia in our society.
