Abstract

First, the disorder that the TEA-Ch is intended to assess—ADD—is described. This is followed by considerations of the construct of attention that form a basis for the development of the TEA-Ch. Finally, psychometric instruments for assessing attention disorders are critically examined and the advantages of the TEA-Ch over previously common procedures are identified. A brief overview of options for validating psychometric test procedures is then provided.
